Published on .

San Francisco--Personify, San Francisco, has introduced a rental service that allows marketers to use its Web site marketing, analysis and optimization tools without involving corporate IT. Personify becomes one of the first Web marketing technology vendors to offer its wares on an application service provider basis--a market that's expected to reach $43.7 billion by 2002, according to the research firm International Data Corp., Framingham, Mass. Personify provides software that allows businesses to optimize e-mail, acquire customers, encourage longer Web site visits and refer products based on previous purchases. The cost of the service is $121,000 to license and set up Personify's software, and $54,000 annually to host and administer the application.
