New York-BP plc, which controls such sub-brands as Amoco, Arco and Burmah Castrol, disclosed that Scient Corp., San Francisco, has been working for the last six months on a Web site for the London-based petrochemical giant. The deal called for Scient to simplify the architecture of www.bp.com and implement a style guide that spanned the company's major brands. BP is Europe's largest company in annual revenue, and more than 160 sites worldwide were knitted together as part of the Scient engagement.
