New York--Philips Electronics N.V. has launched a direct mail campaign targeting multimedia production companies, publishers, marketers and ad agencies to inform them of the steps they should take to protect themselves from legal liability associated with unlicensed products such as CDs and DVDs. The letter, which began mailing in stages in mid-December to 90,000 business executives in North America, suggests the recipient verify that their CD and DVD supplier is licensed.
