PIB: Magazine ad revenue increases for seventh straight month

New York—Magazine rate card-reported advertising revenue increased 1.0% in August to $1.5 billion, compared with August 2004, according to the Magazine Publishers of America’s Publishers Information Bureau. The August increase marked the seventh straight month of revenue gains. Year-to-date, revenue was up 8.5% to $13.8 billion compared with the same period last year. Six of the 12 major advertising categories increased in revenue and pages in August compared with August 2004. Year-to-date, eight of the 12 categories generated increases in revenue and pages.
