Pinterest launches richer pins, more content

San Francisco—Image-sharing site Pinterest is making pins more actionable for pinners by adding background information and content. Pinterest has rolled out the new feature initially with product, food and entertainment sites, including those of Netflix Inc., Nordstrom Inc., Sony Corp. and Target Corp. Pinners will now see such added product information as pricing, availability and where to buy. For movies, content ratings, cast and crew, and release dates will be visible, the company said in its blog. The new feature is the latest action by Pinterest to make the service more business-friendly. In March it released a Web analytics tool to help companies understand how the market interacts with their content.
