PR Blockage: The Aftermath

By Published on .

It seems that Wired Editor in Chief Chris Anderson’s Long Tail blog post this week on unsolicited press releases was the entry read round the world. Before listing the e-mail addresses of those he blocked due to e-mail “abuse,” Anderson took the PR industry to task for mass-mailing useless press releases “because they [PR people] can't be bothered to find out who on my staff, if anyone, might actually be interested in what they're pitching.” The post generated more than 290 responses and spawned two subsequent entries by Anderson. This latest is his response to the flood of criticism he has received from PR and marketing professionals since posting the entry.
