New York--Primedia Inc. announced Thursday it is combining its 172 newsletters, magazines, Web sites, conferences and databases into a new holding company called Media Central. Brill Media Holdings L.P. will have a minority interest in Media Central, and Steve Brill will serve as chairman-CEO. The partners in BMH have exchanged 49% of their interests in the BMH for a smaller percentage interest in Media Central that Brill would not specify. Although Brill's flagship properties--Brill's Content and Contentville.com--will remain separate entities, there will be some editorial crossover with Primedia's properties.
