Primedia names Conlin president-CEO

Published on .

New York--Primedia announced Wednesday the appointment of Kelly P. Conlin as president-CEO.

The former president-CEO of International Data Group, Conlin will replace Charles G. McCurdy, president-interim, who will assist in a transition period and then leave the company. Primedia also announced that Dean Nelson will move from interim chairman to chairman.

Conlin “is the ideal person to build on Primedia’s core base of consumer and business-to-business properties and position the company for the next phase of its development and success,” Henry R. Kravis, a director of Primedia and a founding partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., said in a statement.

Since leaving IDG in 2002, Conlin has been an advisor to a private investment firm specializing in equity investments in communications and media companies.
