Primedia sells Collectibles Group to Ashton

New York--In another deal designed to reduce its long-term debt, Primedia Inc. has completed the sales of its Collectibles Group to Ashton International Media Inc., according to Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc., which represented Primedia. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Collectibles Group consists of Doll Reader and Teddy Bear and Friends magazines. Worcester, Mass.-based Ashton publishes the bimonthly magazines International Figure Skating and Women's Basketball. Primedia has sold about $220 million of its targeted $250 million in non-core assets in an effort to reduce its debt.
