Seattle--Promotions.com, New York, announced Monday it will buy software from E.piphany, San Mateo, Calif., to add oomph to its promotional e-mail campaign business. E.piphany specializes in software that can measure the performance of multiple advertising and marketing efforts simultaneously, including e-mail, banner advertising and direct mail. Promotions.com said use of E.piphany software will boost its ability to deliver reports on the efficacy of e-mail campaigns it handles for clients and will allow it to do larger campaigns. Promotions.com, which sends 1 million e-mails daily for clients, is attempting to expand beyond consumer-to-business to business-to-business campaigns, including for Compaq Computer Corp. The announcement was made at the Direct Marketing Association net.marketing trade show in Seattle.
