Publicis Groupe acquires Chinese agency

Paris—Publicis Groupe announced the acquisition of EmporioAsia, a digital marketing agency based in Shanghai. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the acquisition, EmporioAsia will be rebranded EmporioAsia Leo Burnett. EmporioAsia CEO Vincent Kobler will lead the renamed agency.

The acquisition will boost the global agency’s strategic, production and creative capabilities in the fast-growing Chinese digital marketplace, according to Publicis.
