Publisher associations SIIA, SIPA to merge

Published on .

Washington, D.C.—The Software & Information Industry Association and the Specialized Information Publishers Association, two major associations for b-to-b publishers, plan to merge. SIIA, a trade association for the software and digital content industries, will offer SIPA programs to its members in addition to its regular programs. SIPA, which was founded as the Newsletter Publishers Association but whose members now publish in many formats, will become a division of SIIA and will continue to offer its own membership programs, the organizations said in a statement. SIPA will become SIIA's sixth market-focused division, joining content, education technology, financial services, the public sector and software. SIPA will coordinate with SIIA's content division.
