Q1 print ad revenue sinks almost 7%

New York—B-to-b print advertising revenue fell 6.8% in the first quarter to $1.71 billion, according to American Business Media's Business Information Network report. Ad pages declined 9.7% in the first quarter to 132,204.46. For April, revenue fell 5.5% to $612 million. Print ad pages dropped 9.15% to 45,532. The current report included revised data for the first quarter of 2012, which revealed a smaller decline in ad sales than initial reports indicated, ABM said. The revisions to the 2012 data showed a 2.0% decline in sales from first quarter 2011 to first quarter 2012. ABM previously reported a 4.2% decline for last year's first quarter.
