Published on .

Sussex, Wis.—Quad/Graphics Inc. announced that it plans to close its printing plant in St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, which employs about 270 people. The move is part of a plan to invest $23 million in the printer’s infrastructure in Canada in the next year, according to the company.

In addition to closing the Quebec facility, Quad/Graphics also plans to refocus its Edmonton, Alberta, plant on retail and insert directory clients. “We are committed to Canada and are structuring our operations to deliver the best quality on the most efficient and flexible manufacturing platform coast to coast and nearest to our customers’ end users,” Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics chairman and president-CEO, said in a statement.
