Former R.R. Donnelley CEO named Quebecor chairman

Published on .

Montréal—Quebecor World’s creditors announced last week that Mark Angelson, former CEO of competitor R.R. Donnelley, will become chairman of Quebecor, which is currently operating under bankruptcy protection.

Among the other new members of the Quebecor board are Tom Ryder, former chairman-CEO of Reader’s Digest, and Jack Kliger, former president-CEO of Hachette Filipacchi. Quebecor CEO Jacques Mallette is expected to be the only continuing member of the board.

The new board members will be seated upon the printer’s emergence from bankruptcy, which is expected in July. “The highly fragmented printing industry must undergo further consolidation, and this company will be an important part of that process. We look forward to providing overall strategic guidance, best governance practices and oversight,” a spokesman for the director designees said in a statement.
