Palo Alto, Calif.--The workforce e-mail market is a huge untapped opportunity that represents $6.7 billion, according to a new study by research firm Radicati Group.

The study, called “Workforce E-mail Market Trends 2003-2007,” found that approximately 45% of corporate employees worldwide do not have access to e-mail. Many of these workers are in the manufacturing, retail, airline and distributed services industries.

At an estimated price of $20 per user, the untapped market for workforce e-mail is estimated at $6.7 billion, Radicati said.

Vendors trying to reach this market should make sure their products are low cost, provide basic functionality, can integrate with existing technology, and are low-maintenance and customizable, according to the study.

Information about the study is available at www.radicati.com.
