The e-mail security software market will generate $2.1 billion in revenue by the end of 2005 and will experience steady growth over the next four years, according to the Radicati Group's Market Stats & Industry Commentary, released this month. The report also found that the number of viruses sent per day will increase from 0.9 billion in 2005 to 4.2 billion by 2009. This year, phishing accounts for 5% of worldwide spam traffic. Also according to the report, the number of worldwide e-mail mailboxes is expected to increase from 1.2 billion in 2005 to 1.8 billion by 2009.
