Radio ad revenue grew 6% last year

New York—Overall radio advertising revenue increased to $17.3 billion last year, a jump of 6% compared with 2009, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau. That growth accelerated in the fourth quarter, when overall radio advertising revenue increased 7% to $4.6 billion.

In a statement, RAB President-CEO Jeff Haley called the ad numbers “the best comparative figures we've seen in over a decade.”

Digital revenue posted the highest growth figures, increasing 29% in the fourth quarter to $172 million and 24% for all of last year to $615 million.
