Radio ad revenue sluggish in June

New York—Combined spot and nonspot revenue for the radio industry was up 1% in June compared with the same month last year, according to figures released late Friday by the Radio Advertising Bureau.

Local ad dollars declined 1%, while national ad revenue rose 1%; combined local and national ad revenue was flat compared to June 2005. Nonspot revenue jumped 17% in June.

Year-to-date, combined spot and nonspot revenue was flat, local revenue was down 1% and national ad revenue up 1%. Totals are based on sales indexes from more than 150 markets.
