Red Hat introduces enterprise Linux operating system

Raleigh, N.C.--Red Hat Inc. announced Tuesday the introduction of the Red Hat Linux Advanced Server. The system is the first enterprise-class Linux operating system. It is designed to enable large companies to accelerate their migration from UNIX to a less expensive Linux operating system running on Intel-based server systems. Red Hat is trumpeting its new server as the industry's first platform to deliver the full benefits of open source computing to the enterprise.
