Red Herring Communications forms research unit

San Francisco-Red Herring Communications has formed Red Herring Research, a custom research unit focusing on technology and other key growth industries. The new unit will combine elements of profile, survey, benchmark and financial data into research packages for mid- to senior-level managers and executives, service-industry professionals, academics and students. Tony Nash, who formerly oversaw development of publications at The Industry Standard, has been named director of Red Herring Research. Mark Mowrey, also from The Industry Standard, has been named associate director. The research adds to Red Herring Communications' portfolio that includes Red Herring and RedHerring.com.
