Reed Business Information forms new unit

New York--Reed Business Information Media Group announced on Tuesday the formation of RBI Press, a new business unit that plans to publish books for the business, professional, institutional, school and library markets.

Fred Ciporen will be president of RBI Press. He will report to Tad Smith, president of the RBI Media Group, which publishes 23 b-to-b magazines, including Variety.

Ciporen recently served as VP-group publisher of RBI's Publishing Group, which includes Publishers Weekly.

RBI Press expects to publish 12 to 18 books a year, and to announce its fall list at BookExpo America in May.
