Report analyzes e-commerce mistakes

Manchester, U.K.--In a report released this week, GartnerGroup's U.K. office predicted that 75% of electronic-business projects will fail to meet their objectives due to faulty planning. In a report titled "CEO and CIO Alert: Five mistakes that will derail an e-business project," listed the following recommendations: ``1) Don't redesign all business processes at once. 2) Don't suspend good project management rules simply because this is e-business. 3) Don't think the technology can do the `heavy lifting.' 4) Don't ignore the potential of new marketing and delighting customers in innovative ways. 5) Don't think your biggest competitor will come from the ranks of today's companies.''
