Chantilly, Va.—Local digital advertising revenues are expected to increase 13.1% this year, according to a report released by BIA/Kelsey.
According to BIA/Kelsey's “U.S Local Media Forecast (2011-2016): Full Edition,” several media segments are on target to exceed the overall growth rate of local digital advertising. These segments include mobile search, which is expected to be up 77.2%; online video, which will grow 51.6%; and social media, which will increase 26.3%. For newspapers, digital ad revenues will be the only source of growth, the report said.
The report also includes an overview of local spending in the U.S. on directories, direct mail, radio, television and video, among other media channels.
