Report: iPad share of tablet Web traffic hits 84.2%

Westborough, Mass.—Apple iPad users' share of all tablet Web traffic in the U.S. and Canada reached 84.2% in June, according to a report by ad targeting company Chitika Inc. According to Chitika's monthly “Tablet Usage Share” report, the iPad's Web traffic share was its highest since the beginning of the year, and up from 82.4% in May. Users of Amazon's Kindle Fire accounted for 5.7% of tablet Web traffic, with Samsung Galaxy tablet users at 4.2%. The report was based on an analysis of U.S. and Canadian tablet impressions of ads running through the Chitika Ad Network from June 15 to June 21.
