Report: Marketers feel ill-equipped for digital marketing

Published on .

San Jose, Calif.—Marketers feel overwhelmed by the pace of change in their jobs and feel particularly ill-equipped to manage digital marketing, according to a new study by Adobe Systems. Just 48% of respondents who characterized themselves as digital marketers felt highly proficient in digital marketing, and only 40% thought their company's marketing is effective, according to Adobe's study. In addition, 68% felt more pressure than ever to show return on their marketing investment. Contributing to these pressures, 76% of respondents said marketing has changed more in the past two years than the past 50. Adobe's study was based on an online poll of 1,000 marketers conducted in August and September.
