Report: Microsoft may make another run at Yahoo

Published on .

New York—Microsoft Corp. is mulling another bid for Yahoo Inc., according to a report from Reuters. Three years ago, the software giant bid more than $44 billion for Yahoo, but was rebuffed. The two companies, however, did reach an agreement to have Microsoft's Bing handle Yahoo's search function. In the wake of disappointing results and the departure of CEO Carol Bartz, Yahoo has signaled that it would welcome bids for the company. Private equity firms and Chinese company Alibaba are among the businesses that have reportedly also expressed interest in Yahoo, which has a market capitalization of about $19.2 billion.
