New York—Manufacturing Insights, an IDC company, has released a report suggesting the use of Web 2.0 collaboration technologies can help address knowledge management issues associated with the aging of the U.S. work force.

In the study, “Web 2.0—The Inflection Point for Knowledge Management,” Manufacturing Insights said that demographic realities and the emergence of commercially viable Web 2.0 technologies will make future knowledge management efforts more likely to succeed than previous ones.

The study looked at manufacturing sectors including aerospace, automotive, defense, energy/utilities and high tech.
