Report: SMBs are committed to customer loyalty programs

Chantilly, Va.—A large proportion of small and midsize businesses use customer loyalty programs that provide special offers and rewards for frequent customers, according to a report from BIA/Kelsey. According to BIA/Kelsey's “Local Commerce Monitor,” 38% of SMBs currently offer a customer loyalty program, with an additional 21% stating they will likely add such a program in the next 12 months. Respondents estimated that 18% of their total business in the next 12 months will be generated by such customer acquisition promotions as discount deals, daily deals and coupons. BIA/Kelsey's study was based on an online survey conducted in July of 568 small and midsize companies.
