Research and Markets reports online recruitment advertising nearly triples

Dublin, Ireland—Online recruitment advertising nearly tripled in 2005, growing from $1.3 billion in 2004 to $3.5 billion last year, according to a report from Research and Markets, a global market research company.

The report cited the widespread emergence of niche job boards, including companion sites of trade magazines, which contributed to the growth.

Also, recruiters began shifting major portions of their budgets from offline sources such as brochures, job fairs and temp services into new online services, including online job boards and their own Web sites, the report found.
