Responsys to acquire Smith-Harmon

San Francisco—Responsys, a provider of e-mail and cross-channel marketing solutions, today announced it has entered a tentative agreement to acquire digital marketing services company Smith-Harmon Inc. The acquisition will strengthen Responsys' ability to help marketers with the strategic planning, creative design and execution of cross-channel marketing programs, according to the company.

“We are committed to making smart investments that enable us to support our customers in the best way possible,” said Dan Springer, CEO of Responsys, in a statement. “Smith-Harmon brings valuable experience and expertise marketers need to succeed in today's cross-channel marketing world.”

Aaron Smith, principal of Smith-Harmon, will become director of creative technologies at Responsys; Lisa Harmon, also a Smith-Harmon principal, will become director of creative services.
