New York—In the wake of a massive phishing invasion of corporate e-mail databases, deliverability company Return Path has launched a new service aimed at blocking such fraudulent e-mails.

The company's Domain Assurance service provides a view into current malicious activity and helps mitigate damage. It also allows senders to validate e-mail authentication results across campaigns sent under their domains, including transactional, marketing and corporate, according to the company.

At the end of last year, employees at several companies unwittingly responded to e-mails that fraudulently sought access to company records. Hundreds of e-mail databases may have been compromised, and potentially millions of e-mail addresses and passwords were stolen from e-mail service providers, including AWeber Communications, Return Path and Silverpop.
