Reuters appoints Rashbass chief executive

New York—Thomson Reuters has named Andrew Rashbass chief executive-Reuters, a new position. Rashbass, who will be based in London, has been group chief executive for The Economist since 2008. In his 15-year tenure with The Economist, Rashbass has been managing director/publisher of The Economist, managing director of Economist.com and chief information officer of the Economist Group. Rashbass will join Reuters this summer, though a specific start date has not been released. He will report to Thomson Reuters CEO James Smith.
