Reuters launches affiliate network for online video

New York—Global news agency Reuters is launching a pilot program that will allow news organizations, online publishers and blogs to show Reuters news video on their Web sites free of charge. The story was first reported by CNET News.com. The video affiliate network program will enable Web site operators to place a video player on their Web site and show up to 20 of Reuters' breaking news stories from around the world. The stories will be updated throughout the day. The new program marks a departure for Reuters, which has historically fed news only to newspapers and broadcast stations that paid for the service.
