Roth named managing editor of ‘Fortune' Web site

Published on .

New York—Dan Roth is rejoining Fortune as the managing editor of its Web site, according to a post Thursday on All Things D's MediaMemo blog.

Roth lost his job at Condé Nast's Wired in the fall. He also worked for Condé Nast Portfolio before it folded. He worked at Fortune between 1998 and 2006.

The Fortune.com Web site operates as part of Time Inc.'s CNNMoney.com.

"As we said when we announced the reformulation of the whole Fortune franchise, one of the things we plan to do is reinvent Fortune.com within the framework of its home on CNNMoney.com. Dan will be heading up that effort," Fortune Editor Andy Serwer wrote in an internal memo.
