Rothenberg returns to IAB after brief stint at Time Inc.

Published on .

New York—The Interactive Advertising Bureau announced that Randall Rothenberg is returning to the organization as president-CEO. Rothenberg had announced his departure from the IAB in December after being named Time Inc.'s exec VP-chief digital officer by then-CEO Jack Griffin.

Griffin, however, was ousted in February as CEO of Time Inc. In the wake of that move, Rothenberg was reappointed to his old position at the IAB, which he held from 2007-2010.

”With our industry at a critical point, we are pleased that Randall's coming back to advance the work he's done to date,” said Bob Carrigan, IAB chairman and CEO of IDG Communications, in a statement.

A memo from Time Inc. executives published on AdAge.com, a sibling of BtoB, said: “We considered him [Rothenberg] a valued and collegial member of our management team and hoped he would stay.”
