Saatchi & Saatchi to close San Francisco office

San Francisco--Saatchi & Saatchi, owned by French advertising giant Publicis Groupe S.A., is closing its 60-person San Francisco office. The office, which peaked with $180 million in billings in 1998, is expected to close Aug. 1. Work for the shop's main client, Procter & Gamble Co., will be returned to Saatchi's New York office. Meanwhile, Publicis is beefing up its public relations holdings with the purchase of Fabianne Gershon Associates and Hudson Stone Group, two closely held New York corporate and investor relations firms. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
