San Francisco—Salesforce.com Inc. will acquire social media company GoInstant. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but The Wall Street Journal reported that the price exceeded $70 million. GoInstant, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, offers technology that allows users in different locations to browse websites together, which Salesforce said could be useful for sales calls and customer-support sessions. GoInstant launched its service last September. Last year, it raised $1.7 million in seed financing.
