New York—Salesforce.com has unveiled a social media marketing suite anchored by Radian6, the social monitoring company it acquired
earlier this year.
Debuted at the company's Cloudforce expo and conference here today, the suite—named Social Marketing Cloud—offers five modules: Social Monitoring via Salesforce Radian6, which enables most of the other elements; Social Insights, which analyzes comments on social sites for sentiment and influence; Social Engagements, for managing a company's interactions on social sites; Social Hub, which automates social responses via the Salesforce CRM application; and Siteforce, a social website-creation tool.
Like the Salesforce CRM solution, the Social Marketing Cloud modules are software-as-a-service solutions. The Social Insights module is powered by partnerships with social media analytics companies Klout, OpenAmplify and OpenCalais
“We think marketing is undergoing a huge transformation and it's driven by the social revolution,” said Marcel LeBrun, senior VP-general manager, Salesforce Radian6. “The traditional marketing techniques aren't going away overnight, but we're choosing to go, as Wayne Gretsky said, "where the puck is going next,' which is social marketing.”
