Salesforce.com updates sales and marketing applications

New York--Salesforce.com on Monday announced the launch of Salesforce.com S3, an updated version of its Web-based sales and marketing applications. The company said it spent four years and $100 million to develop the new product, which adds more than 100 new features, including a document management library and a business process and workflow manager. Salesforce.com also announced that Dell Computer Corp. will promote the S3 ASP product on its small-business solutions Web site. It has also formed a strategic alliance with TIBCO Software Inc., a business integration software company, to enable S3's integration with competing CRM providers' applications including SAP AGS, Oracle Corp., PeopleSoft Inc. and Siebel Systems Inc.
