SAP to acquire mobile technology company Syclo

Walldorf, Germany—Business management software company SAP plans to acquire Syclo, a mobile applications company, to enhance SAP's enterprise mobile offerings. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Syclo, based in Hoffman Estates, Ill., has long been an SAP partner, focused on developing mobile apps for such business processes as asset management and work flow. Syclo has about 600 customers in 39 countries, with a focus on utilities, oil and gas, life sciences and manufacturing companies. Syclo technology will be integrated into SAP's Afaria mobile device management and security product through SAP subsidiary Sybase, according to SAP. The transaction is expected to close this quarter.
