SAP AG invests $225 million in Commerce One

Walldorf, Germany--SAP AG has invested an additional $225 million in Pleasanton, Calif.-based Commerce One Inc., increasing its ownership stake to 20%. SAP originally invested $250 million in Commerce One, an e-marketplace developer, last June. Despite having entered deals with b-to-b giants including Citigroup Inc. and Cisco Systems Inc., Commerce One has been hammered on Wall Street. The company's shares are trading in the low- to mid-single digit range, off a 52-week-high of $84.12.
