SAP, C1 win first joint hub deal

Published on .

Atlanta--In their first joint win, Commerce One Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., and SAP Markets Inc., Palo Alto, Calif, will build an e-marketplace for a high-profile energy consortium, now dubbed Enporion. Atlanta-based Enporion was created by several energy buyers and suppliers: Allegheny Energy, New Century Energies, Minnesota Power, Northern States Power and PPL Corp. SAP and Commerce One agreed to a broad-ranging partnership earlier this year, which involved SAP broadening its stake in Commerce One. The two companies have embarked on joint software development projects, and together hope to combine Commerce One's strength in procurement and marketplace software with SAP's enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain software roots.®MDBO¯®MDNM¯
