SAP, Commerce One to jointly deliver e-marketplace platforms

Published on .

Rumored for weeks, SAP Markets Inc. Wednesday announced at its customer trade show in Las Vegas that it will team with Commerce One Inc. to jointly deliver e-marketplace platforms. The to-be-named marketplace suite will combine technology from the two companies. Commerce One, Pleasanton, Calif., has had great success with its e-procurement and marketplace platforms, while software giant SAP has struggled to move past its roots as a vendor of ERP systems. The vendor debuted mySAP.com last year, but the effort has struggled to gain traction. SAP Markets, Palo Alto, Calif., is the marketplace-building subsidiary of SAP AG.
