Schoenfeld projects improved ad spending for computer sector

Riverwoods, Ill.—The 29th edition of Schonfeld & Associates’ annual study, Advertising Ratios & Budgets, predicts a strong year in 2006 for computer advertising spending.

The new research report tallies advertising spending vs. sales ratios for more than 5,300 companies and 300 industry sectors. It also forecasts ad spending in 2006 and ad growth for each company and industry.

In the computer arena, ad spending is expected to increase, with PC manufacturers anticipating a 11.7% increase in advertising spending and prepackaged software anticipating a 2.1% increase in ad spending.

Additionally, the report expects that ad spending in the semiconductor sector will grow by 14% in 2006.
