Schonfeld & Associates releases Advertising Ratios & Budgets for 2009

Libertyville, Ill.—Research company Schonfeld & Associates released its 32nd annual Advertising Ratios & Budgets report, which projects ad spending and ad ratios by industry categories for 2009.

Diversified food companies will spend $38.1 billion on advertising next year, up 11.0% over this year, according to the report. Telecommunications companies are projected to spend more than $29 billion next year, up 10.6% over this year. The pharmaceutical industry will spend more than $25 billion on advertising next year, up 7.8% over this year.

“Overall, 2009 promises to be a year of continued modestly increasing advertising spending,” the report said.
