New York—Drew Schutte has been named VP-publishing director of Wired Media. He will oversee sales and marketing for both Wired and the Wired News Web site. Condé Nast purchased Wired.com earlier this month, reuniting, after eight years, the print and digital brands of Wired. Schutte joined Wired in 1994 as West Coast advertising manager, became publisher in 1999 and was promoted to VP in 2004. In other personnel moves, Jay Lauf was named publisher of Wired magazine. He became associate publisher of Wired in 2004 after joining the magazine in 2001 as national ad director.
