Scranton Gillette buys Décor assets from Vance

By Published on .

Arlington Heights, Ill.—Scranton Gillette Communications announced Wednesday that it has acquired the assets of the former Décor Division of Vance Publishing Corp.

The acquisition includes all assets related to Furniture Style, including Home Fashion Forecast, and Design & Décor magazine (formerly Accessory Merchandising). Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We plan to relaunch some of the brands to suit the new realities of the market with digital and print products,” said SGC President-CEO Edward S. Gillette. “Our mission is to be the preferred integrated media vehicle of the home furnishings industry, dedicated to generating compelling content that connects manufacturers to retailers, specifiers and designers.” In March 2009, SGC acquired Décor titles Hospitality Lighting and Residential Lighting, and launched its Design Group.
