Service measures Xmas fulfillment times

Published on .

San Francisco--Bizmetric Inc. this week delivered what it says is the first-ever automated measurement service detailing how well--and how quickly--e-tailers are fulfilling e-commerce orders this holiday season. It's an important and closely watched b-to-b issue. Last year, the Federal Trade Commission fined several retailers for failing to deliver products as promised. Bizmetric placed 34 orders on eight e-commerce sites the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3. Average fulfillment time for the e-tailers surveyed was four days, eight hours and 46 minutes. Outpost.com, REI.com and Walmart.com were the fastest fulfillers. Outpost.com checked in at just two days, 10 hours. Bizmetric will continue to track receipt of additional orders placed in subsequent weeks up until Christmas.
