Producer comment: “Adding value for exhibitors is accomplished by providing more effective ways for them to connect with potential buyers,” said Clay Stevens, president of International Exposition Co. “The show offers a large number of opportunities for exposure of product advantages and the building of brand recognition.”
Exhibitor comment: “We were impressed with the quantity and quality of people there,” said Rebecca Morey, VP-marketing and sales of the start-up Chicago Clamp Co., which introduced its product at the show. “We were talking to people all the time. A lot of times they were people who didn't realize they could need our product.”
Breakdown: The show traveled to New York in 2008, where the size of the market and concentration of industry professionals and suppliers helped grow attendance by almost 23%. AHR boosted educational offerings and continued to emphasize exhibitors' new and upgraded products. In 2009, the show will be held in Chicago, and show organizers expect green initiatives to take center stage. —C.W.
